No more skepticism. Fedex is the king of Tennis.

June 8, 2009
Roger Federer has finally achieved it. A carrer Grand Slam. Only the sixth in history to do so. After Fred Perry, Don Budge, Rod Laver, Roy Emerson and Andre Agassi, Fedex finally achieved the feat by winning the French Open which eluded him for four straight years. But this time there was no Nadal, the only man who conquered him on all the last four occassions.
Nadal was thrown out of the competition in the form of Robin Soderling in the initial stages of the competition. It was Federer’s trophy the moment Nadal was out. It was a sweet victory for Federer in the final against the gaint killer Soderling. He won in straight sets 6-1, 7-6, 6-4 against Robin.
After the win, Federer said “It might be the greatest victory of my career”. It surely is. There is no more argument henceforth on the greatest player Tennis has ever produced. It surely is Roger Federer. Sampras too believed this.
This must be the best gift for his wife who is expecting a baby any time soon.
Earlier Svetlana Kuznetsova defeated Dinara Safina in the finals of French Open in the women’s category. It was the 2nd grandslam win of her career. Meanwhile world No 1 Safina is yet to win a Grand Slam title which has been hard to get hold of.

“It was Federer’s trophy the moment Nadal was out”
this is not compleatly correct, he had big issues against Tomi Haas, he was 2:0 behind and in the 3rd set it stood 30:30 and than Federer changed the game and won, so it wasn’t so easy, the pressure on hime was huge. True he had one of his bad days, he made much mistakes in that game, but your article sounds like it was an easy thing for Federer after Nadals out which it wasn’t.
