Was it the Ike which struck us??
Disaster struck us….was it the ike or not?? i don’t think it was the ike because had it caught us, we would have been in greater trouble…it was the WCM United team which humbled us…
our team felt like fresh popcorn when we entered the YMCA grounds…the other teams who played b4 us were fairly doing biz with the football…we thought we could do better…was that thought a curse??? because the ground turned into a comic stage when we started to play…all 4 of us except the goalie were vying for the ball within ourselves….we din’t have a single idea what we were doing…we were like a herd of bulls….but the opponents played foxes taking away the ball from us all the time….
all of us were aping some or other comic hero characters and i vow none of us spoiled the charisma of the stars…all said our defence was truly good compared to the opponents…but we weren’t able to score a single goal though we had a few half chances….we lost by 3-0…
the match was truly a test of fitness for a techie….half of our members were wrecked within the first 10 mins…and someone who felt what a football was like after years, the blows were unforgiving….one corner kick landed right into the left part of my face and did some damage to my nose….(i still don’t understand why a corner was hit my way when i was in a place where the ball wasn’t meant to be hit at all)…another mentionable blow was the one which hit the rib cage of balaji’s….it was a powerful shot…but we din’t care…we just kept playing and lost…
i felt bad and embarrased for a long time because the game was not what i had thought of…(hey i swear…i din’t wish to play like a ronaldinho there)..the return journey to home was a not a good feeling…
all this happened yesterday…and now i feel a lot better and have taken some important decisions for my future…though we lost, i have learnt good lessons from the match..hope i’d follow them and succeed.
