Sachin Tendulkar today scored his 42nd test century against the kiwis. This is his 2nd test century against the kiwis in New Zealand. His first international test century was scored way back in 1990.

It took 168 balls with 15 fours for the little master to reach his century. He is now comfortably ahead of his nearest rival Ricky Ponting with 37 test hundreds.

Tendulkar’s century was his 85th overall in both forms of the cricket. He was out for 160 off an OBrien bouncer.

In reply, New Zealand were 75/3 at stumps on day 3. India are looking for a test series win in New Zealand against the kiwis which had eluded them for over 4 decades. Last week they pocketed their first ODI series win in New Zealand. This tour sure is going to be a memorable one to the Indians for a very long time.

“The first one was scored way back in 1989.”-Wrong information.Probably Sachin scored his first test century against NZ in NZ in 1998 in wellington.
