Lewis Hamilton Is Youngest Formula One Champion
Lewis Hamilton, the much revered Formula One driver for Mclaren, won his maiden F1 championship and became the youngest formula driver at 23. The record was previously held by Fernando Alonso, another fantastic F1 driver in 2005 when he was 24. Hamilton finished fifth in Brazil, thus winning the title by just 1 point over Felipe Massa of Ferrari.
He described the race at Sao Paulo the toughest in his career. Massa was storming to victory in front of his home crowd when Hamilton was in the final lap of the race in sixth place. F1 followers would have thought that Hamilton again had lost the championship by 1 point. But exactly the opposite happened in the next few seconds. He slipped past Timo Glock at a corner and barely 10 seconds later, he crossed the line fifth and won the championhip by just 1 point.
As a rookie, he has showed a tremendous amount of fighting spirit and character and has brushed aside all the rumours of his ability to perform under pressure. He is here to stay for long and break many records.
